After driving up the coast to Astoria Washington, we again headed inland toward Mount Rainier National Park. Just outside the park on Hwy 706 near Elbe we were startled to see a huge giraffe looking over a split rail fence. When I got the suburban stopped and turned around, we discovered it was made out of scrap iron. That was our introduction to Dan Klennert's "Recycled Spirits of Iron". It's well worth the stop should you ever find yourself in the neighborhood. As you can see, he also uses other materials
