We finally managed to get a week free and make a trip to
Tennessee in late April for a visit. For once we were lucky on the weather, and we
actually hit the peak of the spring flower season. Here's my mother out
checking out her Japanese Maple, red azaleas, and flowering dogwoods
The whole town of Dyer was in bloom like this, and was
prettier than I've seen it in years. Could not have asked for better weather
either. Of course a week after we left for home, they got several nights of
hard freezes from the same front that dumped 3½" of
snow on Waco!
