Eddie had a great Christmas in 1996. Here he is with his mother and father. |
Ever thoughtful of the boys education, I made sure he got some educational literature as well as all the toys. |
In January 1997, Eddie's parents bundled him up and set off for Hong Kong, Manila, and Beijing on a combined business-pleasure trip. Eddie got to visit with his grandparents in the Philippines, his aunt Leony in Hong Kong, and his aunt Techie in Beijing. |
Eddie seemed to take to Beijing right off, particularly after he discovered that they had McDonald's French fries there too. |
His parents bundled everybody up and took him down to the square at Tianamun. As you can see, it was pretty cold, and the pavement was icy. The wind caught Eddie like a sail and slid him around like an ice boat. Shook his mother up I heard, but Eddie loved it. |
Of course everybody has to get their picture made with chairman Mao. |
No trip to Beijing would be complete without a visit to the Great Wall. |
