The Ho Family

Before Jennifer headed back to Beijing, she joined us for a trip down to the hill country. We stopped by Enchanted Rock where this was taken for a picnic lunch on the rock on the way down to Lost Maples.

She got to see a few new things on this trip. A real Road Runner, Armadillos up close and personal, beautiful downtown  Luckenbach, and ... the Milky way! I too had forgotten how many stars there were up there until we spent a night camping in Lost Maples!

While driving from L.B.J. Ranch over to Fredericksburg, we stopped in at Luckenbach just to say howdy to the boys at the store. Jennifer thought it was a "neat" place even if Willie and Waylon weren't there.

John and Jennifer paid us another visit in October of 1999.  John invited us all up to La Hacienda Ranch restaurant in Frisco for a great meal. Looks like they were enjoying themselves doesn't it?

Jennifer Ho was back in the spring of 1999 to be sworn in as a US Citizen. Angie had a client cancel Sunday showings, so we all hopped in Blackbeauty and headed for Daingerfield. It was a beautiful day. If I'd just remembered to carry our rubber raft, we could have been out there floating around too!

Jennifer tried to eat all the crawfish in Dallas before heading back to Beijing, and though she gave it a game try, I think we have some left. That girl does love crawfish!

Jennifer was back to visit again in April. We stopped by Plano and picked up her up for a quick trip up to Texoma. It was such a nice day we almost wished we'd brought our swimming togs. We all went for a nice hike through the woods and down to the swimming cove.

Wow! That's a strong Marguerita!

After all that walking, we were racking our brains trying to figure out a good place to go eat. Jennifer finally said, "Let's just go by Hacienda Ranch!" I protested the minimum polite amount before allowing them to throw me in that briar patch! As you can see, we were all thoroughly enjoying ourselves and really pigged out on cows and catfish! Jennifer allowed as how that must have been the best, if not the strongest Marguerita she'd ever had. Here she's doing her Kwang Kung imitation.

Jennifer was back in town for a brief visit in the summer of 2000. While she was here, we had her and a few old friends over for dinner, and Angie put on quite a feast. We all had a great time telling and retelling all the old war stories while we "chowed down" on some good food.

To finish it up right, Angie surprised us with a great summer Chi-Tex dessert - Bluebell "crunchy" frozen treats!

In October 2001, Jennifer Ho called to say she'd come up with tickets to see Yo Yo Ma at the Myerson, and she invited us to join her. After seeing how gussied up Jennifer was, I figured I could stay in my jeans and Tee shirt and no one would even notice. They both insisted I get spruced up though. Even made me wash behind my ears!

The concert turned out to be quite enjoyable, even if his fiddle was Texas sized.
