In mid-July we took a vacation to the Northwest with friends Marion and Shu Fong Dilley. We based out of Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island and roamed over to Olympic National Park, down the Hood Canal, and to Mt. Rainier
Toby's Tavern, which turned out to be our favorite hang out. Great mussels by the bucketful!
We got there early, and it was a slow day at Toby's Tavern
Marion and Shu Fong agree that it's good eatin'! By this time we were on our second bucket of mussels
Four well fed, happy campers!
Shu Fong checks out a 10" disappearing gun at Fort Casey. This fort helped defend the NW coastline during WWI & WWII.

We had lunch at a Japanese restaurant, but the Calico Cupboard is THE PLACE for dessert in Anacortes!
