2006 Thanksgiving Holiday visit to Tennessee
November 2006

It was open house at Pioneer Homeplace

We did manage to do a few things besides eating while I was in Dyer.

For instance, Samuel invited me to the Pioneer Homeplace open house hosted by his interpretive history class.

These young ladies greeted us as we started the tour.

And although I'd heard that construction wouldn't start on rebuilding Mt. Olive CP Church until spring, I drove by just for a look. Who should I run into but Benny McVay who's well on his way to rebuilding the church on the original site.

Benny's a distant cousin on my maternal side, and this was the first time we'd met face to face.

Lindsay and Nathan

Miss Lindsay Greenwood, a new math teacher at GCHS,  joined us for sunday lunch. Looks like she's as cold natured as my mother! Here she and Nathan relax and try to digest Sunday dinner.

Natalee is really enjoying warming herself at the fireplace. Either that, or someone just told a really good one!
