Canadian Vacation 1999 |
Just
up from the Banff Springs hotel is the Gondola ride up to the
top of
Sulphur Mountain. The view is fantastic, and the walk along the ridge to
the next peak is well worth it. Watch out for wind though! For a live view, try this webcam! |
The boardwalk takes you across the ridge to the adjoining peak where a small stone cottage was set up as a weather observatory years ago. Here we're looking back at the gondola terminal. |
After Banff, and on the way to Lake Louise, we stopped in for a view of the famous "Ten Peaks" at Lake Moraine. |
Here
we are in front of Lake Louise itself. Angie tells me the Glacier was much
larger when she was here in 1997, which was considerably earlier in the year. For an idea of the current weather, check this webcam at the ski lift area. |
