Canadian Vacation 1999 |
Peyto Lake, just below Bow Summit on the Icefield Parkway, probably illustrates that deep blue glacial lake color better than most. It really is that color, honest! The glacial silt, about the consistency of flour, causes it to look milky and reflect the blue colors. |
It was short sleeve weather on the Icefield parkway, but it gets cold up there on the Glacier! We'll take one of the snocoaches from Icefield Centre up on to the glacier itself. |
We rode the snocoach from the Icefield centre up to the Athabasca Glacier, which comes down from the Columbia Icefields. Man that's an awful lot of ice! |
Just driving the Icefield parkway is an experience. The Scenery is great all the way. This was taken looking out the windshield as we were driving. |
