Fourth of July, Dallas, 2003
  Last Revised 15 May 2010

Lon, Mary, Angie, and Connie at the Yacht club.

Lon and Connie Thomas invited Angie and I  and Mary Felix to join them on their sailboat at Lake Ray Hubbard to watch fireworks on the Fourth of July evening.

Here we'd wandered down to the Yacht club to check out the sidewalk band and fireworks setup.

I think Angie fell in love with this bouganvilla at the swimming pool.

Uhhh, you need a haircut!

Lon was supposed to be taking a picture mainly of the beautiful crepe myrtle, but this is what came back in the camera. Not sure what Angie was staring at either!

We just missed being rained out by some pretty potent thunderstorms. As it was, they managed to cool things down nicely and provide a light breeze, making the evening all the more pleasant.

Big Thunderhead!

We got together on the sailboat for a quick dinner before heading out into the lake to view the fireworks.

The "CD" is moored at the dock at Chandler's Landing.

A spectacular sunset

As we headed out to view the fireworks, we were treated to a spectacular sunset on the south side of a well defined wall of clouds.
