Texas State Fair 2001 |
Even the gardens are modeled in detail. Even the fountains work! Cutaways let you see inside. |
This was the detail of the current Oval Office. The exhibit is changed with the actual changing decor of the White House as the Presidents change. |
This separate miniature depicts the original construction of the White House, begun in 1792. |
There was also a mock up of a table at a state dinner, complete with place cards, etc. |
The exhibits included a life size replica of the President's office with manikins of the President and First Lady. Looked like they'd been on a heck of a diet to us. Earlier in the day they evidently offered to take your picture with the "President" so you could show it off to your friends. Wouldn't fool anyone I'm afraid. |
On our exit, things were looking so pretty at night that I had to try one more night time shot. That's the Automobile building at right and the Texas Star Ferris Wheel in the background at left. |
