How'd you like to spend Christmas, on ..... ?

Once again we spent Christmas on a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship. This year we picked up our nephew in Fremont California and drove down to Los Angeles, and later San Diego where we took a week's cruise to Mexico, stopping at Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta.

In this picture, Angie and I have just finished a leisurely breakfast in the "Windjammer" cafe, and are figuring out how to best be lazy for the day.

As usual we headed back to Tennessee to spend Thanksgiving with my family. Had a great time, and while we were there, mother and I took Nathan and Samuel Reed out to "hunt for ancestors". In this picture we have just found the grave of Mary F. Carne, first wife of John D. Carne, my great grandfather, and the great-great grandfather of the boys.

Marilyn and Bill Harrison hit it off with Santa

Cousins Bill and Marilyn Harrison from Florida spent their summer vacation touring Alaska in August and September. While they were there, they dropped in on old St. Nick, who surely looks in a good mood. As Bill put it, "He seemed very glad to finally see us, after all he had heard about us being so good for so many years." I don't know about that, but we're really hoping they put in a good word for the rest of us too, while they were there!

If nothing else, I think I beat the shopping malls to Christmas this year!

Jennifer Ho came up with tickets to see Yo Yo Ma at the Myerson, and invited us to join her. After seeing how gussied up Jennifer was, I figured no one would notice me even if I stayed in my jeans and tee shirt. They both insisted I get spruced up though. Even made me wash behind my ears!

The concert turned out to be quite enjoyable. Yo Yo turned out to be a nice down to earth guy, and let me tell you, he has really got a Texas sized fiddle!

And they ate twice this many!

Angie accompanied her mother, two sisters and a nephew to California where they are staying at third sister's home. Sunday they went out driving in the country where they found a "all you can eat/pick" peach orchard. She said that after they picked a lot of the little peaches, they discovered the larger ones further back in the orchard. Ummm! She'd better bring some home when she comes!
