Lost Friends Luncheon #104 - 13 January 2010

Now this is a happy bunch of diners! We were happy to welcome Mrs. Streck who joined us for lunch this month. You be sure and bring her back next time Eldon!

Mike Crye took over the camera and got this picture of me along with Eldon and Mary Streck, Carol George, and Marvin Howard.

Lost Friends Luncheon #105 - 15 February 2010

I guess circumstances conspired against the February luncheon. On the 12th the Dallas area had a record setting snowfall, the 13th was on a weekend, no notice was sent out, and Monday was Presidents Day. This stalwart group still managed to get together for plenty of good food and conversation.

Looks like everybody had gotten their usual seat by the time I made it to the March Luncheon. Guys, I think we're going to have to go back to charm school or something - all the gals seem to have deserted us!

Doug Dreggors insisted that I needed to be in the pictures too, so he grabbed the camera and caught myself, Marvin Howard, and Eldon Streck.

Lost Friends Luncheon #107 - 13 April 2010

The April turnout was sparse, but we had a great time sitting around talking over old times, home projects, and ''toys''.

There really is a Lynne Saunders after all! Lynne put in a long overdue appearance at the May luncheon and was catching up here with what's been going on with Mike Crye.

Marilyn is still not back, but this new girl did a credible job. With only 8 people including myself, we did manage to get in some good visiting.

The ladies seem to have deserted us again this month! We soldiered on and enjoyed war stories none the less.

Marilyn's back, and it appears she's fully recovered from the broken ankle.

She's trying to get Harold Shiroma to make up his mind while Mary Streck studies the menu.

Terry Roe put in an appearance for the first time. It's been a long, long time since I've seen him!

We had a surprisingly good turnout for a hot July day.

Lost Friends Luncheon #111 - 13 August 2010

Friday the 13th with its 104° temperatures brought out a bunch of die-hards for some good conversation and our Mexican food fix.

Look who's back in town! The Wallners put in a surprise appearance after a year and a half or so of absence. Jim and Connie are back to buy a new vehicle and tend to a few chores before heading out for who-know's-where.

I'm not going to be able to make it next month so someone else bring along a camera and let me know who was there!

There were only six of us this month, but we had a grand old time catching up on what everybody's been doing and telling tales about you folks that didn't come to lunch!

Mary and Eldon Streck

When I walked into this month's luncheon, who should be the first person I saw but Smilin' Eldon Streck! Just before I left on vacation Eldon was confined to bed and being cared for by hospice and his family. He told me he was going to get up and walk again, and by golly he did! He's in his usual good humor, and both he and Mary are looking great.

Mary and Eldon Streck. Great to see Eldon back up and around. He said he was going to do it, and he did! Our prayers and best wishes for both of you.

Lost Friends Luncheon #115 - 13 December 2010

Our 115th luncheon in December 2010 brought back lots of old friends including some folks who've been absent for a while. Here Jack Bowling is flanked by a couple of fellows we hadn't seen in a long, long time, Dave Cerney at the left and Dave Kuester at the right.

It was good to see everybody again and hear all the latest news and plans for Christmas.

L-R: George Huling, Marvin Howard, Allegra Burnworth, Mike Crye, Jim Rushing

These folks sure seem to be in a festive happy mood. Guess they've been good and are having those visions of sugar plums and other goodies expected from Ol' St. Nick.

While up at my end of the table it looks like we're expecting switches and coal lumps! Thanks to Mike Crye for grabbing the camera and snapping this.
