Lost Friends Luncheon #116 - 13 January 2011

L-R: Marvin Howard, Red and Betty Merritt

January saw a return of some folks we he hadn't seen in a long, long time including Lynne Saunders and Red and Betty Merritt. We sure enjoyed visiting with everybody again. L-R: Marvin Howard, Red and Betty Merritt

I don't know what was so funny, but Allegra Burnworth, Lynne Saunders, and Harold Shiroma were sure enjoying them selves. (And yes, I checked - my fly wasn't open!)

L-R: Allegra Burnworth, Lynne Sauders, Harold Shiroma

L-R: Doug Dreggors, Eldon Streck, Mary Streck

Doug Dreggors almost managed to sneak out of the picture, but Eldon and Mary Streck weren't going to let him get away with that!

Eldon's looking better every day, and is walking under his own power again.

Regular attendee George Huling emailed me just before the luncheon to tell me that he'd fallen on the recent ice and broken his hip. He's in rehabilitation at McKinney Hospital Rehab at Virginia parkway and US 75. Drop him an email or give him a call.

Lost Friends Luncheon #117 - 14 February 2011

It was a sparsely attended Valentine's Day luncheon this month. Between Valentine's Day and the first really pretty, warm, sunshiny day in what seems like ages, we didn't draw much attention. But Mary and Eldon Streck, Dennis Kaplan, Marvin Howard and myself did get to enjoy some good food and fellowship. Mostly we talked about YOU, so you'd better show up next month!

Lost Friends Luncheon #118 - 14 March 2011

L-R: Harold Shiroma, Jim Rushing, George Huling, Jack Bowling, Doug Dreggors, Allegra Burnworth, Mike Crye, Marvin Howard

It was good to see George Huling back on his feet and under his own power after having had hip surgery. He's getting around pretty good with that cane and getting better every day.

Lost Friends Luncheon #119 - 14 April 2011

A few of us old diehards managed to struggle into lunch today, but missed seeing you there. Come join us around 11:30 a.m. at Tino's, Collin Creek Mall in Plano on the 13th of every month or the following Monday if the 13th falls on a holiday.

We were deeply saddened to learn that Eldon Streck passed on April 21, 2011. He will be sorely missed.

Lost Friends Luncheon #121 - 13 June 2011

L-R: Jim Rushing, Doug Dreggors, Ken Rogers, Marvin Howard, Allegra Burnworth, Mike Crye

I was off attending my 50th High School Reunion when the May luncheon was held, so I missed it.

I did make it back to the June luncheon to catch up on what had been going on.  We had a fair attendance and a great time. Carol George joined us later, but by common agreement we left the camera holstered.

L-R: Jim Rushing, Doug Dreggors, Ken? Rogers, Marvin Howard, Allegra Burnworth, and Mike Crye

Mike Crye insisted that if he had to be in a picture, I had to also, and swiped my camera to take this one.

It must have been a good joke in the process too from the way we're all laughing, and Jim Rushing sure is getting friendly!

Mike's getting better at this than I am!

Lost Friends Luncheon #122 - 13 July 2011

Connie Wallner, Jim Wallner, and George Huling

Who should wander in to our luncheon on a hot July day other than the Wallners? Jim and Connie were back in town for a few days and came by to get their Tino's fix and catch up on what's been going on. It looks like George Huling is doing the same.

L-R: Connie Wallner, Jim Wallner, George Huling.

Left to Right: Mike Crye, Jim Rushing, and Jerry Brown.

Allegra Burnworth and Harold Shirom sharing a laugh

We couldn't pick a winner, but here are the two finalists in the laughing contest!

Having a great laugh over something are Allegra Burnworth and Harold Shiroma.

Lost Friends Luncheon #124 - 13 September 2011

We had a really good turnout for the September luncheon on a day when North Texas was setting a new record for the year of the most 100° days ever in a single year. A little heat never bothered this group as you can see from the way they're plowing into that Mexican food!

L-R: Marvin Howard, George Huling, Mike Crye, Carol George, Jim Rushing, Jerry Brown.

Come join us on the 13th of each month, the following Monday if the 13th is on a weekend or holiday, at Tino's in Collin Creek Mall 'round about 11:30 a.m.

L-R: Connie Wallner, Jim Wallner, George Huling

We were all sitting around swapping stories and wondering "whatever happened to ...?" If your ears are itching, you'd better show up next time!

L-R: Jerry Brown, Harold Shiroma, Doug Dreggors, Mauricio Nuņez, Marvin Howard, George Huling.

Lost Friends Luncheon #126 - 14 November 2011

I missed the October Lost Friends luncheon while I was on a slow boat to China, but November found most of the regulars in attendance. It was good to see everybody and catch up on what had been going on.

L-R: Jerry Brown, George Huling, Mauricio Nuņez, Larry Pavlicek, Jim Rushing, and Marvin Howard.

It was nice to get my Tex-Mex fix after a couple of months without! Also enjoying the food and fellowship were L-R: Larry Pavlicek, Jim Rushing, Marvin Howard, Carol George, Jerry Brown, and George Huling

Lost Friends Luncheon #127 - 13 December 2011

We may be little but we're loud! Not really, but we did manage to have a fun time despite our limited number. Jack Bowling came by later to cheer us on.

L-R: Jerry Brown, Jim Harrison, Marvin Howard, Carol George

L-R: George Huling, Marvin Howard, Allegra Burnworth, Mike Crye, Jim Rushing

Coming in the EXIT, Jack Bowling has the door opened for him by Marilyn

In the "out" door, etc. Jack Bowling showed up at the closest door and found it locked. Marilyn took pity on him and let him in to join us.
