Lost Friends Luncheon #8 - 14 January 2002

The Merritts

Betty Merritt brought her husband Charles along this month. He's also got a digital camera and is planning on putting up a web page of photographs soon. We'll be watching for it.

I invited John Plant to join us this month. Here's John catching up on what's been going on with Rex Stephens and Dennis Kaplan.

Doug Sims and Nona Babb

Two more new faces this month were Doug Sims and Nona Babb. I think it's been something like forever since I last saw Nona. She was telling us that she has 3 grandsons in the service now. The way I figure it, she must have been a child bride and her kids followed suit!

Lost Friends Luncheon #9 - 13 February 2002

February saw a large turnout for the Lost Friends Luncheon. Two new faces to the group were Joe Strickland, still working at Alcatel as you can see, and Richard Hicks who is now working part time for Metro Optix.

Jack Hinson

Several new lost friends showed up for the March luncheon. Jack Hinson was a late arrival and certainly a surprise to see.

Jack Hinson may have gotten there late, but not too late to eat.

Second table

I've got to 'fess up that though Dave Christian introduced me, I don't remember everybody's name!

From left that's Red and Betty Merritt, the back of Meredith's head, and Diane Dercks. At right Carol Avenna and Mary Chavis, and Dave Christian in the rear.

Dixie and Nona were having a good time!

Lost Friends Luncheon #11 - 15 April 2002

Dennis Kaplan, Glenda Offut, John Plant

Dennis Kaplan was back from M.D. Anderson in  Houston for the April luncheon, and Glenda Offutt showed up to make for a grand reunion at the "Lost Friends Luncheon".

Judy just happened to be eating outside when somebody saw her and invited her back to join us. She'd forgotten that we were meeting for lunch. I'm getting forgetful too Judy!

Judy

Frances

Frances was beaming at seeing a bunch of old friends. It was good to see her again.

Ann Reynolds put in her first appearance at lunch, and seemed to enjoy it.

Ann

Three Mouse'kateers!

Glenda Offett, Joyce Guthrie and Carol Avenna had to get together for a reunion picture! It's the first time any of us had seen Glenda in a long, long time.

Lost Friends Luncheon #12 - 13 May 2002

The guest of honor at May's "Lost Friends Luncheon" was Meredith Martin's daughter Blake. A good time was had by all, including Blake.

Lost Friends Luncheon #13 - 13 June 2002

Ron Seymour and Dave Cerny

The June 2002 Lost Friends Luncheon served up quite a few new faces as well as good food and good conversation! Shown here putting in their first appearances are Ron Seymour and Dave Cerny.

Brenda Smash was at the last luncheon I believe, but I failed to get a picture of her at that time. Well here she is folks, and looking Smashing too!

Brenda Smash

Dorothy McGrath and Nona Babb

Dorothy and Nona seemed to be having a grand old time. This is also the first time I've gotten a picture of Dorothy, although she's also been here before I believe.

A real surprise guest was Bill Mertz. Bill is currently at Metro-Optix. He and Lynn were catching up on old times.

Lynn Saunders and Bill Mertz

Dennis Kaplan and "Marilyn", our waitress

Marilyn has been waiting on this group since we started having these luncheons. She's had to put up with us being more interested in talking than ordering, everyone wanting separate checks, and then being in a hurry to get their change and leave.

I told her that we definitely needed her picture in the group too, and she immediately cuddled up close to Dennis! Well, they make a good picture don't they?

Lost Friends Luncheon #14 - 15 July 2002

Bob Everett

July's lunch brought in a couple of old friends I hadn't seen in a long time, Bob Everett and George Huling. Enjoyed seeing both of them, and maybe next time I'll get a chance to catch up on what's going on with them!

Lost Friends Luncheon #15 - 13 Aug 2002

Doug Jennings, Phil Stickney, Ray Housley

The August Lost Friends Luncheon drew a near record crowd. Three new faces from amongst those still wearing badges were Doug Jennings, Phil Stickney, and Ray Housley.

Lost Friends Luncheon #16 - 13 Sep 2002

Several "new faces" showed up for the September 2002 Lost Friends Luncheon. We were all glad to see Joe Russo, Barbara Shade, and Chuck Flint.

Lost Friends Luncheon #17 - 14 Oct 2002

Charles Marsh

Charles Marsh put in a surprise appearance at the October luncheon. Charles is currently in Sales in Kansas City, and recently made a trip to Alaska.

While in Alaska he said he was chased by a grizzly bear! I'm not sure whether that beats staying home and getting chased by a Wall Street Bear or not!

Lost Friends Luncheon #18 - 13 November 2002

November brought out lots of old friends I hadn't seen in a long, long time. Donna Baysinger, Janice Murray, and Joyce Harris showed up in a surprise visit. It was great to see them all.

Donna, Janice, and Joyce

Jerry Brown

Jerry Brown drove over from Grapevine to join us at lunch also. Jerry's managed to parlay his love of video and computers into a consulting business that is "paying for his toys" as he put it.

George Huling was also back, and I managed to get a little more flattering picture this time. I guess Janice just brings out the best in us! As you can see, there was a lot of reacquainting going on, and most of us stood around "gabbing" long after we would have normally started lunch. Time flies when you're having fun!

George Huling and Janice Murray

Behind every good man there's . . . TWO good women!

It really looked like old times to see Joyce with Jim and Connie Wallner. "Mama Joyce" has taken care of all of us since nearly the time we started to work I think!

Lost Friends Luncheon #19 - 13 December 2002

Who should show up for the December "Lost Friends Luncheon" but Marvin Howard. Marv's retired now, moved to Sachse, and is still enjoying his cars. It was great to see him again.

Marvin Howard

Nona, Dawn, and Dixie

Nona, Dawn and Dixie were having a good time, but turned serious when I tried to take a picture.

Joyce is getting into the Real Estate Agent thing now, but managed to make lunch. Looks like old times with her, Lynne, and Carol getting their heads together.

Joyce, Lynne, and Carol

Deborah, Mary, and Vickie

These three look like they've got Santa Buffalo'd! Deborah Penn, Mary Chavis, and Vickie Wright were having a grand old time it appears. Don't think they're worried about getting switches and coal in their stockings.
